Ryan bags his second brace and with it his pocket money for another jug

After a slow start business as normal

After a slow start business as normal as TRR M3's reverse the loss v Weston to a 5-2 win over UCD 2nd XI.

A few superstitions were put to bed, firstly those of you who feel that with 16 players we dont win, the author deos however agree we need to get the subs working as some of the forwards (I need to mention in particular Phil) who played I think 15 minutes each.

Further proof that when Findo plays in league matches that we win...

The pre match banter on Whats App (the author had to reacquant with this app!) was to prove costly for Heinz, it was he that suggested that the last person onto the pitch would umpire the 4th XI after. In the changing rooms Heinz was unusually in a rush, luckily managed to leave the changing rooms before and Heniz was down to umpire 4's.

What a difference it makes to have all 16 players on time, probably our best warm up so far this season, mindset was right, we gave ourselves the best possible way to start the match...

Being wary of a UCD side that on their day can score goals (8 of them in one match) we started from the whistle somewhat cautiously passing the ball around with good effect, however plenty of 'mad' passes from either side of the pitch acorss the d and the midfield and losing possession in the wrong parts of the pitch resulted in TRR defense being under additional pressure, one of which saw UCD hit the ball into the D with a UCD player getting out of the way of the ball which deflected of his stick wrongfooting GK to go into the right post 0-1.

The next passage of play whilst trying to resolve the errors, saw the team get frustrated, more errors crept in, wrong decisions made. The last 5 minutes of the half saw us settle down and dominate, I cant truly remember if we scored before half time or not, anyway we went to the half on all cylinders 1-1.

Findo and Dylan did well to calm us down, from the whistle for the second half, as Mac said this was some of the best hockey we have played, we then went 2-1 up, 3-1, 4-1, 4-2, 5-2? Scorers Findo, Rig, Sean (another great goal) and Ryan 2.

Job done, training is a must on Wednesday as we need to break down and score V Rathgar on Sat.

MOM - Could be Ryan for his brace, Sean, Findo, but this week I have gone for Mac, solid performance, kept the head, stayed in position an example to all. Mac x 1 jug

DOD - Sorry Pete, but you got it for the fourth paragraph above x 1 Jug
