TRR M3's continue winning ways V Railway Union 4-2

By

Next weeks all important match V Weston, we need to reverse the 1-2 loss earlier

Finally I think we are getting back into the groove, a well attended training session on the 'FRONT' pitch on Wednesday (Our thanks to Niall and the ladies) saw TRR M3's well prepared for our match V Railway Union 3's (Last season they were the inform team winning Div 4).

Apologies Scott W, but despite no watering on the front pitch, we do play better on this pitch than the back pitch... Warm up for some didn't start so well, the radar was turned off, but for others not normally in the scoring limelight were placing the ball with devastating effect.

Findo kindly umpired, again our thanks, I think we can reduce your Jugs in the Jug Bank by a couple for all your umpiring? Needless to say you had another great game, well umpired.

All set, Findo gave us instructions, talk of dont let them in, bouncy sticky pitch, we started well enough putting the O'Brien's under pressure and forcing a couple of saves. Against the run of play Railway broke, with their CF chasing a loose ball, actually the less said about a series of defensive errors the better... Railway went 0 -1 up.

Thankfully TRR worked hard moving the ball around at pace, Scott C, Roly, Mac, Ben, Hinds, in particular dominating midfield. Upfront Taps, Phil, Ryan, Ed and Mark were creating several chances, one way traffic, with Ryan opening the scoring with a good finish TRR 1-1. Closely followed by Phil continuing in his rich vein of goal scoring (you in double figures yet?) form 2-1.

The match at this stage was evenly balanced, when again Railway player broke at pace, with the keeper and Railway player in the D, thankfully Ed saved well, score to half time 2-1.

Excellent half time chat would see our less well known scorers - Hinds and Scott W - score a goal a piece. We created several chances, with good defending by Railway and their keeper making good saves, where was the next goal coming from... step up Pete 'aka Beckham' Hinds to score where the forwards were struggling, 3-1.

Then I think a moment of madness, TRR defended well all day, Rig, Mac, Scott x 2, Ritch, Greenie, Ed, all performing well, when Railway were awarded a series of shorties, all defended, all goal scoring attempts covered, until a gentlemen on the left post went to jab the ball which was 12 inches away from hitting our keeper's pads deflecting it into the goal 3-2.

Cometh the hour cometh the man, who was going to score the winning goal, with so many wasted chances, it was left to Scott W to score in at the right post 4-2... (I don't know why Scott W you were given grief by the forwards who wasted so many chances, talk of back sticks indeed...)

Final score 4-2, should have been allot higher, wasted numerous shorties and goal scoring opportunities, of which we cannot afford to do V Weston on Saturday in return match...please note or remember the umpire/umpiring from the last time we played Weston...

MOM - We played very well, good tempo, my MOM goes to Scott W - was like a little terrier covering the whole pitch, and for scoring a goal (his first for the 3's!!) where the forwards/midfield failed...and yes Scotty even you get to buy a Jug (whenever we get a social going..)

DOD - Could this be for wasted chances upfront? Sadly my DOD goes to Greenie (his first DOD!) for being a gentleman on the left post, and yes Stu its a Jug (Jug or Pint emoticons on Whats App doesn't count!)
