Rigby-Jones slots a hatrick downing YMCA and is now on the ‘JUG’ wall of fame

First match back after four week rest, at fortress Grange Rd, against YMCA TRR Men’s III’s
were keen to resume how we finished at the Christmas break

At home, we have got back to winning form, would we continue…
The answer is an empathic YES. Defense in what was to be the second time this season were to keep a clean sheet, we played with all the qualities asked of us by Findo, thanks to Ritchie and Roly for umpiring a half each.
Some entertaining hockey displayed by both teams, with TRR controlling the tempo, several defense splitting crosses resulted in 4 good goals at the half. Defense with Ed, Rig, Scotty, Harry, and Nacho absorbed any pressure form YM, Ed making two good saves saw us to half time with a clean sheet.
Down to 11 men, we in the main controlled the match, despite an umpire deciding rightly that he had enough of stick tackles going unpunished, blew the whistle and next one is a card… Sure enough a minute later Nacho was pinged, and binned with a yellow card. Arjen as acting skipper deciding to evoke his right to ‘talk’ to the team.
Still defence held out any and all YM’s efforts to get on the scoreboard, despite numerous shorties conceded! At the other end TRR halves and forwards connected well, creating havoc, scoring another three goals, ah if we could play like this for the remaining six matches…
7-0 final score, with Rigby Jones getting hatrick (joining Pete, and James in the jug awards – hatrick hero’s), Ed Tottenham grabbed 2 (yes jug avoidance – someone needs to explain this to him), Dylan and Findo one each…
MOM – Two contenders, Rig for his impressive hatrick deserves MOM, Harry for a faultless game, and this week am happy to announce two MOM nominations to Rig and Harry (yes that's a jug each – Coca Cola for Harry).
