Three Rock Rovers HC has started a ParaHockey team for children and young adults from 14 upwards. All children and young adults with Intellectual Disabilities are welcome to join. Please contact Siobhan Madeley - firstname.lastname@example.org.
The main aim of the club is to make hockey more inclusive, and to create a pathway for all our players. So if your child has an Intellectual Disability they should be able to join our club from the age of 9 with our mainstream kids. When the hockey gets too competitive or is a little beyond their level then they will join the Rockets team! So it should be a fluid pathway in hockey.
Rockets hockey takes place on Tuesday evenings from 6.30/7.30 and the kids learn the basic hockey skills as well as learning how to warm up and play in a team. We are delighted that from the very start Osaka (a hockey brand, owned by an ex-Irish International player now living in Belgium) came on board with us providing sticks for the kids, so we could start! Our Rockets are Powered by Osaka
This year our team will be travelling to the Euro ParaHockey Championships in Amsterdam from 20/24 August. Here at this event our Rockets will represent Ireland and will be the first Irish ParaHockey team to take part in these Championships. Listen to our journey here thanks to Morning Ireland:
This is a HUGE undertaking for us as a club and requires a lot of funding. We need support to get the kids and their parents to Amsterdam, so please if you can help - copy and paste the link below:
