The Men’s Indoor squad have had quite a successful Christmas and New Year to date. Over three days, starting on December 27th, they ran an indoor camp in St Columbas College for boys and girls. There were two aims to this initiative, firstly to act as fundraiser for the team’s trip to Oslo next month for their European tournament and secondly to introduce fellow club members to an exciting brand of the game that they enjoy and that has improved their own skill set.
Everyone who attended the camp enjoyed the experience and learned new skills, these young players and others will ensure Three Rock Rovers maintains its tradition of being an indoor force in the future. The team aim to turn this post-Christmas Indoor camp into an annual event, keep your eyes peeled for further information on this and other camps in the future!
In terms of Europe, the side secured promotion from Challenge II last year by winning gold in Tiblisi, Georgia. The side won six out of six games scoring fifty four goals, including the largest ever win by any Irish side in a European ranking tournament.
This Sunday the team are playing Glennane in the first Leinster Indoor Semi-final at 13.30 in the St.Columba’s hall and if they win the final takes place at 16.30 against the winner of the Railway/ Kilkenny match.
They confirmed their Semi-Final last weekend when they beat Pembroke 12-4 (Ross Canning x3, Jody Hosking x5, Daragh Walsh, Harry Morris x2, Ben Walker) and YMCA 13-2 (Ross Canning x3, Ben Walker x3, Jody Hosking x2, Luke Madeley x2, Dylan Shirley, David Kane , Harry Morris) to top their group.
Support is very much welcome and appreciated. It promises to be an exciting day with plenty of goal action.
The Men’s side wish our U14 boys and girls indoor sides the very best in their respective tournaments. The boys, under the stewardship of Angus Dunlop, are playing in the finals day of their tournament in Portrane next Sunday January 27th alongside the girls! Let’s make it a clean sweep!
