Fixtures, Irish JAGs & Oslo Odyssey?

By Jack McCann

Plenty of news this week!

Oslo Odyssey
The Men's Indoor side are currently in Oslo playing in the Indoor EuroHockey Championship I. Day One was completed this afternoon/evening and after a madcap 5-5 draw with OKS OHVSM Vinnitsa, they scored 3 goals in the last 4 minutes to, and a 3-2 win against Cardiff&Met they have the chance to top their group with a win against Bologna in 8am Irish time.
There is no stream available but keep an eye on Twitter and other social outlets over your breakfast to find out if the lads have a chance at promotion to the next tier which is a level just below the Indoor Men's top club tier in Europe! Massive congrats to the team on their achievement to date!

Shout out to Rob Abbot (Abbo) who is umpiring at the same tournament!

Club Dinner
The Club Dinner will be held on April 27th this year in Old Wesley RFC! Full details and ticket information will be released over the next week but keep the day free for one of the best nights of the season!

Irish JAGs
Congrats to Izzy Bowen, Adam Gallbraith, Ben Ryder & Ben Whelan on their selection for the respective Irish Under 16s squads ahead of their series against England between the 20-22nd of February at the Lilleshall National Sports Centre!
Well done to Calum Adair, Evan Jennings, Harry Lynch and Jamie Pullen for their selection for the Under 18 boys squad for the same trip!

Indoor Successes
It was an incredible Indoor season to date across the board on a provincial and national front for the club. The Ladies Seniors entered a team for the first time in many a year and made the play offs where they fell to Muckross, the Under 14 girls made the final of the Girls Leinster Indoor in the first iteration of the competition while on the Men's side the Seniors retained their provincial and National titles beating Railway in both finals while the Under 14s won the boys indoor in Donabate! The long term of future of Rovers Indoor looks very bright!
