EHL Ranking Cup

Unfortunately the Men’s 1s experienced a difficult weekend in the EHL Ranking Cup, hosted by KHC Dragons in Belgium.

They were on the end of tight 5-4 loss to HC Minsk on the Saturday morning, which lead to facing Hampstead & Westminster on Sunday morning. However, they were on the wrong end of a 4-1 loss, which saw them finish 17th overall once the standings were finalised.

Irish Senior Men versus Malaysia

Congratulations to all our Rovers, both current and abroad, who were part of the Irish Senior Men’s squad that is taking on Malyasia up at Lisnagarvey Hockey Club tonight and last night!

Last night it was quite a night for our Rovers, both current and abroad, as there were 5 players in the Senior Men’s squad last as they tackled Malaysia! While the Malaysian coach was none other than former men’s 1s coach Arul! Congratulations to Conor Empey on his debut double as he and our other Rovers helped Ireland to a 3-2 victory last night at comber road!

Match 2 is currently taking place this evening, with Jaime, Daragh and Ben all starting!

Leinster Girls Under 16 & 18s

This weekend sees the opening matches of the Girls Interprovincial Matches with Leinster playing Connacht in the U16, U18 & U20 competitions in Athlone Regional Centre. Congratulations to both Sarah Smyth and Sarah Flynn for being selected for the Under 16 and 18s match day squads respectively.

Shout out to former Ladies 1s player Orna Bools on her selection, as captain, of the Under 20s squad also named!

Leinster Under 16 & 18 Boys

Congratulations to all our Under 16 and 18 Boys who represented themselves and Rovers with aplomb over the first weekend of the Boys InterPros that took place in Waterford. Leinster picked up 2 tight wins against their Munster opposition to get off to the perfect start!
